Sunday night beauty – First Aid Beauty Review

The best products from FIRST AID BEAUTY

There has been quite a bit of hype around First Aid Beauty so I had been looking forward to trying it for myself.  What first drew me to their product line was its paraben free formula and lack of harsh chemicals.  The lower price point also makes it much easier to try without feeling like you have to pick skin care regimen over a pair of shoes!

So far I have tried several products from the line and these following three stood out…

FIRST AID BEAUTY Eye Duty Triple Remedy - This cream promises to brighten, depuff, and smooth.  While I can’t promise it will depuff or smooth (since I’ve only used it for a couple weeks) I CAN promise that it definitely brightened my eyes.  I have always had very dark undereye circles and this cream helped cover them, especially when layered over with my usual concealer.

FIRST AID BEAUTY Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser With Red Clay - Claims to detox, cleanse, and unclog pores.  It feels like a clay mask with the consistency of a cleanser. For me, it’s like a daily mask that really declogs pores but magically didn’t dry out my sensitive skin.  Pairing it with my Clarasonic added to the deep cleaning effect.

FIRST AID BEAUTY Facial Radiance Pads - A safe for sensitive skin daily renewal treatment.  My skin was glowing after only two applications!  It contains a small amount lactic and glycolic acids making it a great exfoliator for daily use.  There is a bit of a medicinal smell but not enough to be a bother.  This line is free of fragrance, so some may not care for the smell or lack of added scent.

Have you tried First Aid Beauty?

Disclosure – I was provided products from FAB.  Opinions are my own.

Trying out the crop top trend

Back in January, I wrote a post about crop tops.  Being that I’m not a 20 year old twiglet I’ve been a little wary of flashing my stomach in public.  I think the key to pulling off this trend, is to pair a top that will meet where your skirt/pants begin.  This makes the look more polished and you’ll only flash a little skin with the occasional breeze.

Also, I managed to work the midi skirt trend into my outfit as well.  I might be having a trend overload!  The midi length isn’t my favorite as I feel that it can overwhelm my 5’3” frame, but with my high heels I think it helps stretch my short silhouette.

What do you think of these trends?  Are you going to try out the crop top this spring?

I’m usually not one who likes to be the center of attention but I’ll admit, on occasion I like to stand out from the crowd.  With that in mind, when I see that unforgettable accessory — I must have it.  In this case, it happened to be a bold pair of summer shades I picked up at Nordstrom Rack’s new store in Tulsa.  Some people wear sunglasses to hide, but I wear my bright green Prada sunglasses to be seen.

the little black jumpsuit

I finally jumped on the jumpsuit bandwagon.  Even though I used to think they were totally trendy, I must say this trend might be here to stay.  Jumpsuits have a polished yet vintage look to them and I enjoy the juxtaposition of the two themes.  While I adore the bright and fun fashion of 60s, I also love the clean look of minimalism.  Perhaps that’s why I’m digging the jumpsuit — it’s as fashion bipolar as I am.

Beauty note – I’m wearing the Mally lipstick!

Sunday night beauty – Mally Beauty Review

When an expert makeup artist creates her own line, you pay attention.  Celebrity makeup artist Mally Roncal formulated her own line of products when she found others didn’t satisfy.  She also knew that making chic and pretty packaging certainly wouldn’t hurt.  Recently, I had the privilege of reviewing some of her most popular products.
Mally makeup review

Mally Beauty Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner Duo - Both eyeliner pencils go on smoothy but the standout out for me is the ‘royal plum’ color.  This dark purple makes my green eyes pop!  (See example below.)

Mally Beauty High-Shine Liquid Lipstick Pen in Life is Fuchsia - A great glossy pink that is perfect for every day use.  Moisturizing as well.  (See example below.)

Mally Beauty Cancellation Concealer System - Unfortunately, the color was too dark for my skin tone.  I’ve read mixed reviews, but I’m still hoping to try it.  I like the combination of using a cream concealer and powder to help set it.  Either way the packaging is positively darling.
