I think I’ll call this the black and white blogging series.

I wrote last week about the weird world of blogging, and this week I wanted to share another little gem of honestly about why I became a blogger…

Let’s start at the beginning… most people don’t know that I worked in retail on and off for 10 years and based my art/design degree around fashion.  For me, this blog was an attempt to participate in the fashion world, even though I am nowhere near the stylish streets of New York or LA.  When I first started, it was nothing more than just some random posts here and there.  I didn’t even like taking photos, and only started after I discovered that when I did I’d get more of a response than simply talking about a pair of shoes.  That’s when my blog evolved into the “here’s what I wore” blogging category.  In many respects it has stayed mostly unchanged, and yes I still sometimes feel really weird about taking pictures.  Especially when I shoot in crowded areas.

So why do I keep doing this?  Since I was a kid, putting together my outfit for the next day was one of my favorite activities.  My well stocked closet was the result of my yearly pre-school mother, daughter, and grandmother shopping trips, which were always legendary.  We always had a wonderful time, and every time made certain to shop till we dropped.  In a nostalgic way, I think putting together those blog outfit posts reminded me of those good times with my mom and gran.  We may not get to go shopping like we used to anymore but I’ll always be reminded of those great memories when I start putting together a new outfit.

Bloggers let me know — why did you start your blog?

Regarding my outfit, this cardigan kept me warm during an unseasonable chilly trip to Scottsdale.  I wore it with almost everything!

If you need a cardigan that’s warm, stylish, and functional (wear it tied in front, untied, or tie it in the back for a draped look) then this is the perfect one!  Shop my outfit below.
