the step and the walk

I can't get enough of these blue heels.

No matter what I pair them with, they make my outfit POP.  And yes they are from Jessica Simpson.

Missing McQueen

Alexander McQueen will always be one of my favorite designers.  I am so sad I didn't get to see his exhibit at the Met!

Here are several pieces that remind me of the late great McQueen.

I love the marble print on this French Connection dress!

Reminds me of…

Mcqueen spring 09

…this crazy McQueen print from his Spring '09 RTW show.

Skulls were always his trademark.

 Reminds me of…

… this current McQueen scarf.

This DVF silk jersey 'Avram' hooded maxi would be darling on vacay.

(Ps. it's on sale!)

Reminds me of…

Mcqueen fall 07

…this caped dress from the McQueen Fall '07 RTW show.

What is your favorite McQueen moment?

Savage Beauty

“You’ve got to know the rules to break them. That’s what I’m here for, to demolish the rules but to keep the tradition.”

    â€”Alexander McQueen

I have many favorites in the fashion world, but my heart will always hold a special place for Alexander McQueen.  His fashion's were works of pure fantasy, with a story behind each article of clothing.  Like myself, he was a true romantic with a bit of a dark side…

“People find my things sometimes aggressive. But I don’t see it as aggressive. I see it as romantic, dealing with a dark side of personality.”

    â€”Alexander McQueen

His runway shows were groundbreaking and sometimes difficult to watch.  Like any good artwork, his shows forced you to think and to examine our culture and ourselves.  They could be beautiful, eerie, spontaneous, and uncomfortable.

During one of my favorite shows he created a human chessboard…

The exhibition features approximately 100 ensembles and 70 accessories from his 19-year career, which began with his graduation from Central Saint Martins to his last collection before his death last year.

If you are in New York, or will be there before July 31st, make sure and check out this stunning exhibit.  And if you can't make it, here are a few of my favorite fashions that will be on display.

How beautiful is this new McQueen ad featuring 16 year old model Lindsey Wixson.

Here she is strutting her stuff on the catwalk in the Spring/Summer '11 show.

I love the exagerated hips on the dress, although most of us ladies could not get away with such a look!  But we can get away with this amazing black, white, and blue print!  I know I made that resolution to stay away from black, but a print doesn't count… right??

Here are my black, white, and blue print options, with much better price tags than the McQueen above.  Please click below!
